The site’s location and orientation was a unique proposition difficult to pass up.

Bordering the Ferndale Trail Nature Reserve, we identified a rare opportunity to design and build a residence set within the inner suburbs that connects inhabitants intimately with nature.

Exploratory employment of organic materials, textures and tones was navigated by looking to the immediate native surroundings as frame of reference.
